88.1

Political donations

 
  By this Charter, all political donations whether they be for a national, state or local election must adhere to the following criteria. Failure of a political candidate and/or political party to adhere to these conditions shall render the candidate ineligible to stand for office, whether the election has been held or not, and the deregistration of the political party from standing candidates in that electorate for a defined period under statute.  
  (a) All donations, regardless of value amount must be recorded with the party providing the donation, the amount, the date and that these records shall be made available for public record and electoral commissioners as part of proper audit of affairs; and  
  (b) No political party, candidate nor officeholder may accept donations of any kind from a foreign government, or agency of a foreign government, or from a man or woman acting for and on behalf of a foreign government; and  
  (c) No political party, candidate nor officeholder may accept donations of any kind from a corporation, or agency of a corporation or from a man or woman acting for and on behalf of a corporation which is listed as a current tenderer for government business at that branch of government; and  
  (d) No political party, candidate nor officeholder may accept donations of any kind from bodies and/or committees or any man or woman acting on behalf of such an organization having published policy outlines, issue papers, pamphlets and/or manifestos for change to public policy at that branch of government; and  
  (e) No political party, candidate nor officeholder may accept donations of any kind from an illegal organization.
